What is a Quaker? Many of us have found we were Quakers all the time, but just didn’t know it. Try these questions, and you could find you’ve been a Quaker all along!
- If you knew the Iraq War was wrong from the beginning, and knew we were being used for other purposes
You might be a Quaker
- If you think it is time to speak truth to power
- If you believe there is That of God in Everyone
- If you believe war is not the answer
- If you’re tired of religions where there is a doctrine you must accept, and prayers you must recite although you question them
- If you believe God is with us always, and not just on Sunday
- If you are tired of preachers telling you what to think and when to pray
- If you believe Love is the answer
- If you are an independent thinker, and reciting prayers and quoting doctrine you find irrelevant or don’t agree with.
- If you accept Science but also can feel the mystery of the world all around us
- If you feel you are worshiping symbols in a church ,
- If you are an artist who sees beauty of the whole of Gods creation
- If you can accept those with different opinions and experiences
- If you find simplicity and honesty are more important than power and money
- If you want to follow the nonviolence teachings of Jesus
